Haryana govt constitutes SC development council

The Haryana government has constituted a Scheduled Castes Development Council (SCDC) under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar for the implementation of plans related to this section.
The council would include as vice-chairman the minister, social welfare (welfare of scheduled castes and backward classes), whereas two MLAs from the scheduled caste community would be nominated by the chief minister, among others, an official statement said.
The SCDC would advise the departments of the state government on all policy matters relating to scheduled castes sub-plan, it added.
The council would suggest measures for proper planning and implementation of schemes by the departments, and would approve annual scheduled castes sub-plan proposal of the departments, the statement said.
The council would meet at least thrice a year, it added.
