The Governor said the sisters, by becoming the first twins to scale the highest peak in the world on May 19, 2013, had brought laurels to the state.
Praising them for their mental toughness, he said it is a source of inspiration for other daughters.
Nungshi and Tashi, hailing from Aanvali village in Sonipat district, called on the Goveror today along with their father Col (retd) Virender Singh Malik and mother Anju Malik, an official spokesman said.
The twins had unfurled the national flag on Mount Everest and aim to scale the highest peaks in each of the seven continents of the world.
