Additional District and Sessions Judge Hisar, Madhu Khanna Lali today held constable Vijender, resident of Hajampur of Hisar district guilty of eliminating his wife Anita.
The Court, however, acquitted four of his family members due to lack of evidence.
The complainant, ASI Ramphal of Vakil Colony, Hansi and father of deceased Anita, had lodged a complaint against Vijender for attacking her daughter with a bottle on June 17, 2008, she later died in local hospital.
Anita was married to Vijender on November 17, 2006 but the family of Vijender did not like Anita and they used to torture her for dowry, police said.
