"The commando unit will be capable enough to tackle situations like those witnessed during the Mumbai terror attacks," Haryana DGP S N Vashisht said in a meeting, according to an official release.
The DGP said Rs 650 crore will be spent in the next two years for the modernisation of police and police housing.
Of the sum, Rs 100 crore will be spent for construction of 50 new police stations in the state, he said at the meeting of the State Level Empowered Committee presided over by Haryana Chief Secretary S C Choudhary here.
