With a view to complete probe in time, Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar today directed the Police Department to set up a separate FIR Registration Cell.
An adequate number of investigation officers would be deployed in the cell, he told a meeting of Haryana Police Service (HPS) officers here.
He ordered officers of the department to explore possibilities for bringing in changes in police training to eliminate corruption and ensure the personnel were honest, hard-working and responsible.
He also directed them to strengthen the traffic police wing.
He said the police force is the face of the state and asked officers to keep pace with the changing time and incorporate new ideas and methods into the system.
He said the state government has for the first time ordered a weekly off for police personnel.
Director General of Police K P Singh said with a view to ensure smooth traffic movement in Gurgaon, it has been proposed to deploy 1,100 traffic police personnel.
"Several steps are being taken to facilitate smooth flow of traffic in rest of the State," he said.
He said new buildings have been provided for about 50 per cent police stations in the state and construction has been proposed for shifting other stations.
Police-public schools have also been opened in 14 districts, he said.
