HC ask J&K police to hand over the missing boy case to CBI

The Jammu and Kashmir High Court today directed the state Crime Branch to hand over to CBI the investigations into the mysterious disappearance of a three-year-old from the city's Habbakadal area five years ago.
Justice M H Attar directed the Crime Branch to hand over the case to CBI after the state investigating agency presented the case diaries to the court.
Three-year-old Mehran Latied Mir has gone missing from his Habbakadal locality in May 2008 and has remained untraced so far. The missing boy's uncle filed a petition before the High Court seeking CBI investigation into the matter.
The Crime Branch had submitted its report in the court of Passenger Tax Magistrate recently and declared the case as 'untraceable'.

The High Court directed the Crime Branch to hand over all the records including case diaries to the CBI. The premier investigating agency of the country was also directed to file a status report after the vacations of the court are over in January.
Mehran was reported missing from his locality after he had gone to buy candies from a local shop.
