The Delhi High Court today directed Delhi Police to "do the needful", if required, when it receives complaints from Khan Market Traders Association regarding people parking in the market without paying for the same and fighting with the attendants there.
A special bench of Chief Justice N V Ramana and Justice Pradeep Nandrajog passed the order on the plea of the Association which had alleged that with the opening of a metro station near it, a lot of commuters park their vehicles there without paying and also fight with the parking attendants.
"If any hindrance is caused to the entrustment (with the Association) of paid and unpaid parking and if police are required, then the needful be done," the bench said.
The bench made the observation and passed the order while hearing an application moved by the Association for directions to Delhi police to respond to their calls for assistance when people refuse to pay parking charges and fight with the attendants there.
"Parking has become unmanageable without help of the police," the counsel, appearing for the Association, told the court.
