HC grants anticipatory bail to four officials of HML

Plantation company Harrisons Malayalam Ltd (HML) President C Vinayaraghav and three other top officials were today granted anticipatory bail by the Kerala High Court in a land document forgery case.
They face charges of preparing forged documents of ownership of 6,700 acres of government land in Kollam.
The forgery was done at the sub-registrar office in Kollam.
When their anticipatory bail pleas came up before Justice K Harilal, the court allowed the pleas of Vinayaraghav, N Dharmaraj, Executive Director, V Venugopal, Vice President (Legal) and Ravi Anand, Company Secretary.
Vigilance and Anti Corruption Bureau, Thiruvananthapuram had registerd cases against them under the Prevention of Corruption Act and various provisions of the IPC.
According to the petitioners, false cases had been foisted against them and all allegations were based on the assumption that the said land was government land.
