HC issues notice to DMK MLA on encroachment allegation
The Madras High Court has issued notice to DMK MLA and former city Mayor M Subramanian on a petition alleging that he was attempting to encroach a government property here.
A division bench of justices M Sathyanarayanan and P Rajamanickam issued notices to the Tamil Nadu Small Industries Development Corporation (SIDCO), the Industries Development Corporation of India and Subramanian, returnable by June 29, on a public interest litigation (PIL) petition filed by one S Panthiban.
The bench, in its interim order, said, "In the light of the communication given by the Public Information Officer of SIDCO, notice to the respondents through court as well as privately, returnable by June 29."
