Justice S.Vaidhyanathan passed the order on a batch of petitions by Inspectors, who had been promoted as Supervisors in various wings of the Public Health and Preventive Medicine and transferred, but were not allowed to join in the new place of posting due to alleged intervention of the Health Minister.
The petitioners were seeking a direction to the Director of the department to allow them to join in the new place of work.
One of the petitioners Ellappa Jayakumar said he was promoted as Non-Medical Supervisor and transferred to PHC at Nagalapuram in Tuticorin District. But he was not allowed to join there.
The judge posted the case for further hearing on August 3.
