Justice V.Ramasubramanyan admitted the writ petition filed by M.Radhakrishnan, the father of deceased Jeya Krishnan and ordered notice returnable by eight weeks.
Jeya Krishnan, who was undergoing life term at Karaikal prison, was arrested in connection with a case relating to hurling of a crude bomb by unidentified persons at the house of one Naresh Patel. A magistrate court had declined to grant police custody of Jeya Krishnan on August 8, 2012. The petitioner alleged his son, instead of being brought back to jail, was taken to an undisclosed place by police.
He said though he had he sent a representation to the DGP seeking action against police officers suspected to be involved in the murder and also to award compensation for the custodial killing of his son, there was no reply.
He prayed to the court to direct the DGP to take appropriate steps on his representation and take action against police officers suspected to be involved in the murder and to award compensation.
