HCL Tech dives nearly 5 pc after March quarter numbers

Shares of HCL Technologies today fell by nearly 5 per cent after the company's March quarter results failed to cheer investors.
Extending its opening losses, the stock declined 4.61 per cent to Rs 799 as the trade progressed on BSE.
On NSE, it slipped 4.52 per cent to Rs 799.65.
IT services firm HCL Technologies today reported a 14.4 per cent increase in net profit at Rs 1,926 crore for the quarter ended March.
The Noida-based firm had posted a net profit of Rs 1,683 crore in the corresponding quarter last fiscal, HCL Technologies said in a statement.
The company follows the July-June fiscal.
Its revenue for the reported quarter was up 15.4 per cent at Rs 10,698 crore, from Rs 9,267 crore in the same period a year ago.
In dollar terms, the company's net profit grew 5.5 per cent to USD 285.1 million while revenue rose 6.5 per cent to USD 1.58 billion in the third quarter of 2015-16 from the year-ago period.
