Mel Gibson has defended Gary Oldman for supporting him during a controversial interview where the 'Dawn of the Planet of the Apes' star slammed Hollywood for being politically correct.
In the interview, for which Oldman apologised later, the actor had defended Gibson for his infamous anti-Semitic rant in 2006.
Gibson seemed unaware of the controversy but said he believes Oldman to be "a good guy" during the 49th Karlovy Vary International Film Festival, reported Variety."
"These things happen. As we all know... I have nothing much to say. The guy was probably just... He's a good guy. He's fantastic. I know him. He's a good dude... I didn't even look too hard," Gibson said.
Oldman has been in damage control mode for his comments about the Jews.
