Heat wave conditions in Rajasthan, Barmer records 42.4 deg C

Blistering heat continued in parts of Rajasthan where mercury soared to 42.4 degrees Celsius in Barmer followed by 42.3 degrees Celsius in Jaisalmer.
Churu and Bikaner recorded maximum of 41.5 and 41.4 degrees respectively, while Kota, Jodhpur, Sriganganagar and Pilani recorded day temperatures of 40.9, 40.8, 40.7 and 40.3 degrees Celsius, respectively, according to Met department.
The maximum temperature in Jaipur and Ajmer was recorded at 39.8 degrees Celsius, it said.
The heat wave swept western parts of the state and the weather conditions would remain the same during next 24 hours, the weather officials said.
