According to the meteorological department, the daytime temperatures were appreciably above normal in Jhansi, Agra, and Meerut, above normal in Bareilly, and below normal in Gorakhpur and adjoining areas.
Jhansi was the hottest place in the state, where mercury touched a high of 43.8 degree Celsius.
Weather is likely to remain dry in the state on April 20, while rain and thundershowers is very likely at isolated places in the state on April 21.
Issuing a warning, the meteorological department said that heatwave condition is very likely at isolated places in western Uttar Pradesh on April 19.
