Heavy to moderate rains in Himachal Pradesh

Heavy to moderate rains occurred at some places in Himachal Pradesh, causing a marginal drop in minimum temperatures.
The key tourist resort of Kasauli in Solan district was the wettest in the region receiving 81 mm rainfall, while Naina Devi and Mehre recorded 80 mm and 69 mm rain respectively, followed by Sunni Bhajji 42 mm; Baldwara 41 mm; Berthin 39 mm; Ghumarwin 34 mm; Gohar 27 mm; Bhuntar 25 mm; Banjar; Manali 10 mm and Jogindernagar 19 mm.
With scattered rains at some places, the rain deficit from June 1 to September 2 has been reduced to 18 per cent.
The maximum temperatures dropped to 33.4 degrees Celsius at Una against 35.2 degrees Celsius yesterday, followed by Sundernagar 31.2 degrees Celsius; Bhuntar 31.2 degrees Celsius; Dharamshala 28.4 degrees Celsius; Solan 28.2 degrees Celsius; Nahan 27.6 degrees Celsius, Shimla 25.2 degrees Celsius, Manali 24.0 degrees Celsiusand Kalpa 22.0 degrees Celsius.
Keylong and Kalpa in tribal Lahaul and Spiti and Kinnaur districts were the coldest in the region with minimum temperatures settling at 10.9 degrees Celsius and 11.4 degrees Celsius respectively.
Manali recorded a low of 12.2 degrees Celsius, followed by Shimla 15.5 degrees Celsius, Dharamsala 16.0 degrees Celsius.
The MeT has predicted rains or thundershowers at few places in lower and mid-hills over the next six days.
