Heroin seized in Aizawl, 3 held

Mizoram Excise and Narcotics department officials seized 35.7 gram of heroin in Aizawl and arrested three persons, including two women, in this connection, an official statement today said.
Lalremi (34) from Myanmar's Tahan, Lalthanpuii (27) and T Lalrinawma (20) both from Zokhawthar near the Mizoram-Myanmar border trade centre were arrested, it said.
The accused were booked under relevant sections of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985, it said.
The contraband was smuggled across the 404-kilometre-long Mizoram-Myanmar international border to be sold in the city, it added.
