Heroin worth Rs 8 lakh seized, two arrested from Aizawl

Mizoram Excise and Narcotics department officials have seized 213 gram of heroin and arrested two persons for possessing the contraband, a department spokesperson said today.
The contraband worth around Rs 8 lakh in the local market is believed to have been smuggled from Myanmar.
The accused, residents of Champhai district along the Mizoram-Myanmar border, were arrested from Thuampui locality here yesterday night, the spokesperson said.
They were booked under various sections of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985.
