Chairman of K G Hospital, G Bhaktavatsalam said in a release today that the nonagenarian, Kannaeyaram had a fall in his house on July 28 and complained of severe pain in left hip joint and was not able to walk.
The X-ray tests conducted by Dr Alphonse Mariada, Orthopaedic surgeon, on his Pelvis with Hip Joint, revealed that he had "left intertochantreic comminuted fracture", the release said.
On suggestion of the hospital, the surgery was performed on the patient. He was made to sit on the hip chair on the second day and on the fourth day, he was made to walk with the help of walker by the physiotherapist.
