Activists of All-India Jat Aarakshan Sangharsh Samiti (AIJASS) today blocked the traffic for an hour in the morning to protest against the arrest of five of their members.
Ram Bhagat Malik, spokesman for AIJASS, alleged that despite theirs being a peaceful dharna, about two hundred policemen had arrived around 4 am to forcibly carry away five agitationists, who were on an indefinite fast before admitting them in hospital.
Malik said they would continue their struggle until the government accepted their demand for inclusion of Jats in the other backward classes (OBC) category.
