Hmar elected NCHAC chairman

Ngamrothang Hmar has been elected unopposed as the chairman of North Cachar Hills Autonomous Council (NCHAC) in a special session held here today.
The election was necessitated following the resignation of sitting chairman Subrata Thaosen.
Dima Hasao Deputy Commissioner Amarendra Baruah, who chaired the session, declared Hmar as elected unopposed.
Altogether 16 members were present in today's session, the Deputy Commissioner said.
