As Prime Minister Narendra Modi prepares for a summit with US President Barack Obama in September, Congress today hoped that the NDA Government would continue with the policies of the UPA regime while engaging with strategic partners.
Deputy Leader of Congress in Rajya Sabha Anand Sharma said that relations between India and the United States of America, Brazil, South Africa, China and Japan were strengthened during the 10 year rule of the UPA Government.
"During the UPA I and UPA II India's relations with the strategic partners, which includes United States, Russia, Brazil, South Africa, China and Japan was strengthened," Sharma told reporters outside Parliament House.
He expressed hope that the NDA Government would also continue with these policies for our national interests.
"We hope that the present Government will continue with these policies, which are aimed at furthering of our national interests," he added.
