Bollywood actor Varun Dhawan is looking forward to pull off a hat-trick of hit films with upcoming "Dilwale" after his "Badlapur" and "ABCD 2" did well at box office.
Varun, who won two awards for Sriram Raghavan's "Badlapur" and one for Remo D'Souza's "ABCD 2", feels the year gone by was a mixed bag for him as it was "difficult, great and at the same time went well".
"It is exciting and feels nice when your work is acknowledged by people. It has been a great and difficult year for me. I am thankful to the makers, the directors and producers for having me in the film," Varun told reporters here at Big Star Entertainment awards.
"The year began with 'Badlapur' and I am happy it did well. With 'Badlapur' we tried to push the envelope, I am also thankful to media for talking about this film," he said.
While "Badlapur" won two awards "ABCD 2" one.
"The year has gone well. I hope 'Dilwale' does better. Hope hat-trick happens," the 28-year-old said.
"I am very happy with the recognition for 'Badlpaur' as this film means a lot to me. Director Sriram Raghavan who made this film deserves the credit," he added.
The "Main Tera Hero" actor will be seen sharing the screen space with Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol in "Dilwale" slated for release on December 18.
"As 'Dilwale' is near release, there is nervousness and excitement. I am waiting to see how people will react to the film (sic)," Varun said.
