Housewife, son beaten up by miscreants at home

A housewife and her son were badly beaten up in their home by two miscreants, who entered an appartment building in the southern part of the city claiming to be carpenters and while fleeing injured two chasers with daggers today.
Police said the two entered the building in Tiljala area and went to the flats asking residents for work.
Turned away by a resident on the top floor of the five storied building, they forcefully entered a flat on the second floor and beat up the woman and her son, the police said.
When the flat owner's aged mother raised a hue and cry, the two tried to run down the staircase in a bid to escape and was caught by locals and building's residents.

The duo then pulled out daggers and injured two persons before fleeing, the police said.
Kolkata Police dog squad and personnel from the detective department dacoity section reached the spot and started a probe into the matter, the police added.
