Housing subsidy totaling Rs 2.07 crore distributed

A subsidy of Rs 2.07 crore (first instalment) was today disbursed benefitting 138 poor families of Bahoor (reserved) constituency under the Rajiv Gandhi Housing scheme operated by Adi Dravidar Welfare Department.
The administration was disbursing subsidy of Rs four lakh to each poor family belonging to scheduled castes under the scheme in a phased manner to enable them to replace huts with concrete houses, Welfare and Tourism Minister P.Rajavelu said.
He said the government was keen to make Puducherry "hut free.
