HP minister calls for protection of child rights

Himachal Pradesh Minister Dhani Ram Shandil today stressed on the need for protection of children's rights and said that cooperation of society is a must to ensure this.
"It is moral responsibility of the government to protect the rights of children and ensure their mental and physical developmentandget proper education and health care," Shandil, the social justice and empowerment minister said at an event here.
"The energy of children should be fully utilised in a proper manner for nation building and they should be prevented from falling prey to drug addiction. Teachers can also play a proactive role in keeping the students away from drugs," he said.

The chairperson of State Child Rights Protection Commission Kiran Dhanta stressed on the need for protecting the rights of children and the objective and responsibilities of the Commission.
