Taking note of the reported comments of chief minister Virbhadra Singh that the state party chief had appointed 100 secretaries in an arbitrary manner without consulting him, the ministers, MLAs or other concerned leaders, the Chairman of Media Committee of HPCC Naresh Chauhan said "all appointments had been made after approval from AICC and the number of secretaries was 60 and not 100".
"If the chief minister has any objection to some appointments in his area it can be sorted out and his suggestion for change in organisational set up would also attract attention of the party chief and changes would be made bring new faces in place of old ones but that too would require the approval of AICC," he added.
Sukkhu has extensively toured the state. During the 'Modi ke bol, Zumlon ke dhol' programme, he visited the entire state and met over 30,000 workers and visited places where no party chief had gone during past 20 years.
A Panchayati Raj Sammelan would be organised at Shimla on September 21 and a meeting of State Congress Committee would be held on September 28 to chalk out the future strategy.
He also claimed that workers in general are happy with the functioning of the HPCC and its "ACR is good in their eyes".
