Hyderabad: 'godman' arrested for molestation, extortion

A 25-year-old man from Tamil Nadu, who posed as a godman, was today arrested here on the charges of molestation and blackmailing, police said.
Shoukath Hussain, who hails from Vellore, was in the computer hardware business, police said.
The cyber crime police attached to the Central Crime Station arrested him after a woman filed a complaint.
"Hussain, taking advantage of religious sentiments of the victim, gave her some bogus medicines and met her three to four times. Later he started harassing her, threatening that he will inform her husband about their meetings, and started demanding money," said Deputy Commissioner of Police (Detective Department) G Pala Raju.

"The accused also misbehaved with the victim and outraged her modesty," the DCP said, adding that a probe was on in the matter.
