Hyundai Motor India Ltd (HMIL) today launched automatic transmission variant with petrol engine option of its premium hatchback, Elite i20 with price starting at Rs 7.04 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).
With the launch, the company is looking to tap growing sales of automatic transmission options in premium compact segment which has risen to 14 per cent in 2018 from 4 per cent in 2015.
HMIL Managing Director and CEO Y K Koo said in a statement that Elite i20 CVT option with a 1.2 litre petrol engine has hi-tech and convenience features, offering highest safety with comfortable driving experience.
HMIL said a survey conducted by it found that 41 per cent of respondents preferred vehicles with automatic transmission in premium compact segment due to ease and hassle free driving in city and highways.
