I am overprotective as a mother: Katie Holmes

Actress Katie Holmes says she is 'overprotective' as a mother and tends to go a little too far at times.
Holmes, 35, who has a eight-year-old daughter Suri with her ex-husband Tom Cruise, tries her best to make sure that her daughter is safe while she is out, reported Contactmusic.
"Any parent has to watch everything that is going on around her child and I think I am a little overprotective because I'm always the one say, 'Watch out, there's a car'.
"I try to be as informed as possible in terms of looking and listening to what's going on, and getting to know my child's friends," Holmes said.

The 'Jack and Jill' star said she is not going to teach her daughter about the drawbacks of internet because she is too young for that chat at the moment. Holmes makes sure she monitors what Suri watches on TV.
"Suri is little, so I haven't got to the internet part of parenting and believe me, I am happy to put that off for as long as possible but I am monitoring TV and trying to keep her as innocent as I can for as long as possible," she added.
Holmes will be next seen in 'Mania Days' and 'The Woman in Gold'.
