Goulding, 28, who is now dating McBusted bassist Dougie Poynter, confirmed she once romanced Horan but laughed off speculation that their relationship was the subject of Sheeran's song "Don't", which is about a friend of his dating one of his girlfriends, reported Contactmusic.
"I did go on a few dates with Niall but I was never in a relationship with Ed. I have absolutely no idea where that came from and why it was turned into such a big thing," Goulding said.
The "Love Me Like You Do" hitmaker is smitten with Dougie and believes they will be together forever.
