I-Day: Pvt TV channels advised to carry DD feed with sign

The government has suggested private TV channels to carry Independence Day Ceremony telecast from DD News or DD Bharati feed with sign language interpretation for the benefit of differently-abled people.
In an advisory, the Information and Broadcasting ministry said it has been receiving requests from civil society to facilitate telecast of the Independence Day ceremony to the people with hearing-impairment.
The Doordarshan has informed that DD News and DD Bharati will carry the sign language interpretation of the event to provide access to such people, it added.
The two DD channels will also let private satellite TV carry the feed of this event free of cost.

All TV channels, interested in carrying the live telecast of the Independence Day ceremony or its commentary, may carry the signals of DD News/DD Bharati with sign language interpretation for the benefit of differently-abled person, the ministry said.
