The 26-year-old actor is the son of ace director David Dhawan and has warned his fans against the use of tobacco.
"Hey guys for the record I don't smoke but I might have to smoke for some upcoming role but everyone knows smoking is bad so don't do it.
"As an actor if you play a character doesn't mean I am that person I know there are a lot of young people on here so to be healthy no smoking," Varun posted on Twitter.
"And for the rest of the grown ups behave mature, you guys know this is not reality, also people who do smoke are not bad human beings," he added.
