After playing the role of a lifetime as Queen Elizabeth II, "The Crown" star Claire Foy says she is does not want to limit herself to a certain kind of parts and wants to drive herself to the "absolute edge of my ability".

The 34-year-old actor, who won the best actress Golden Globe for her performance as the reigning British monarch in the Netflix series, says she thought she had reached the peak of her acting career after playing Anne Boleyn in BBC2's "Wolf Hall".

"I did 'Wolf Hall', and I was really proud of it. It was sort of like, you can die happy. I've done the role I've always wanted to do, this is an absolute dream, I'm done. If I never work again or never do anything that's that standard again, I'm fine.

"(But now) I'm going to push myself to the absolute edge of my ability or what I think I can do. I thought I knew the actor I was... I don't want to play it safe," Foy told The Hollywood Reporter's Drama Actress Roundtable.

The actor says she found it difficult to believe the producers thought she was "that kind of actor" who would transform "beyond age and class".

She, however, credits embracing motherhood for instilling the ability.

"I had so little attachment to who I had been, who I thought I was. It was a very odd experience where I didn't allow myself to set myself any limits or say I could or couldn't achieve anything.
