The 49-year-old star revealed that he's not ready to retire just yet while speaking to People magazine.
"I am not retiring from acting," Dempsey said before continuing to share why he plans to embrace more of his other interests.
"I definitely love racing. I love the camaraderie and the fellowship. I think the challenge is with oneself and not so much your fellow competitors, necessarily."
Dempsey recently departed "Grey's Anatomy" in a shocking twist, leaving viewers upset by the surprising storyline.
At the beginning of the year, it was announced that Dempsey and his wife Jillian Fink were to divorce after 15 years of marriage.
