I stand by what Goa CM said on bikini issue, says Goa minister

Goa's Public Works Department Minister Sudin Dhavalikar toned down his demand to ban bikinis claiming that he stood by what Goa Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar said about the bikini issue.
"I support what the Chief Minister has said (on the floor of the House). He said that bikinis should not be allowed in public places," Dhavalikar told PTI today, adding that he did not want to comment further on the issue.
The minister had hit national headlines after he demanded a ban on wearing bikinis on beaches. He had said that bikini-clad tourists could create a "law and order situation" on beaches.

Reacting to this statement on the floor of the House during the ongoing assembly session, Goa Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar had said that the government had not changed its policy on the issue.
"There is no change in policy and the minister's opinion about banning bikinis on beaches is his personal view," Parrikar had said.
