Sources said Peerzada has been asked to report to the I-T on May 30 or at an alternative date which can be fixed later.

Sources said Peerzada has been asked to come with all his financial documents to the department which took cognisance of recent media reports about his wealth being around Rs 3,000 crore.

Peerzada, a Mumbai-based Kashmiri businessman recently hit the headlines after his friend Zohal Hamid accused IPL player Luke Pomersbach of molesting her and beating up Sahil.

Both the parties later struck an out of court settlement in the case.

Peerzada, when contacted by PTI, said he had "not received any notice and that he would respond to any official communication" as and when he receives it.

"I have nothing to hide and I will cooperate," he said over phone from Mumbai.

I-T sources said that "Peerzada, however, is not assessed in Delhi but a special unit will be scrutinising his tax returns and documents. What is stated in his tax records and what he said in newspapers has to match," I-T sources said.

The businessman has also been asked by I-T authorities to submit to them details of his recent trips abroad and his investments.

After the scrutiny of cases, his case could be moved to the respective I-T assessment range.

Peerzada's brother Feroze, according to sources, may be summoned at a later stage to get more information about the family's business run in India and abroad.

The department, under its new regime of combating black money, has begun an exercise to keep a tab on high-net worth individuals.
