The 'Suddenly Susan' actress dated the gay singer in the 1980s and at the time, she was convinced that she was in love with George, who she described as a remarkable, respectful and patient gentleman, reported Contactmusic.
In her new book, entitled 'There Was a Little Girl: The Real Story of My Mother and Me', Brooke said, "Nobody had ever been willing to move so slowly. It must be love."
Brooke, 49, revealed that their first date took place on the rooftop of a hotel in Chicago, and she said she was especially appreciative of the fact that George treated her with such respect.
Brooke, who was 19 at the time, went on a few more dates with George, before they decided to go their separate ways.
