IAMAI team to meet Chinese e-commerce, Internet companies

Internet and Mobile Association of India (IAMAI) is leading a team of 23 delegates to meet Chinese e-commerce and Internet firms like Alibaba, ctrip.Com and Xiaomi, to develop sustainable business relations with companies and start-ups in the digital space.
The five-day trip with 23 delegates will witness meetings with leading Chinese firms including HDT Mobile, Google China, DoMob, Wandoujia and UCWeb amongst others, IAMAI said in a statement.
The visit is aimed at developing sustainable business relations with focus on low cost solutions, scalability and an ecosystem to harness start-ups in digital space, it added.
The delegation, led by Google India head Rajan Anandan (Chairman of IAMAI), includes Hungama Digital Media's Neeraj Roy; Dhruv Shringi from Yatra.Com, Joy Bandekar from Flipkart and Chakrapani Gollapali of Microsoft among others.
"The visit will play a pivotal role in setting the ball rolling towards exchange of technical knowhow and managing of large scale businesses. To give a fillip to Indian e-commerce sector, knowledge and operations insight is key to success of large scale operations," IAMAI President Subho Ray said.
The delegation will be getting insights to warehouse management from leading e-commerce companies in China.
A major round of trade talks on Internet and mobile industry will also focus on raising funds, he said.
According to IAMAI report I-Cube, there are 243 million Internet users as of June 2014 with the segment is growing at about 40 per cent. The e-commerce market in India is pegged at Rs 62,967 crore as of December 2013.
