A fisherman was killed after a fishing boat caught fire in the Arabian sea off Porbandar, Gujarat, while the Indian Coast Guard (ICG) managed to rescue other four crew members.
Fishing boat 'Krishna Raj', which had five people on board, caught fire in mid-sea yesterday, ICG said in a press release here.
Coast Guard ship 'Arush' was rushed to rescue the fishermen after receiving a message from a fishermen association.
The boat was 14 nautical miles off Porbandar when it caught fire. ICG crew took nearly an hour and a half to extinguish the fire with the help of other fishing boats in the area, it said.
One of the fishermen died while another sustained minor burn injuries.
