"Army troops recovered seven improvised explosive devices in frontier area of Tangdhar in Kupwara district of north Kashmir," a defence spokesman said here.
Army had launched a search operation following series of intelligence inputs that militants were planning to disrupt polling in Tangdhar area, the spokesman said.
"A search operation was launched around Tod and Gabra villages yesterday. The operation was resumed today and seven IEDs hidden in a hollow tree trunk near Gabra village were recovered," he said.
"These recoveries assume importance as the final round of general elections in Kashmir is scheduled to be held on May 7," the spokesman said.
