IGL said it participated in the bid round held by sector regulator Petroleum and Natural Gas Regulatory Board (PNGRB).
"The company has received letter of intent dated August 9, 2016 from PNGRB for grant of authorisation to the company for development of city gas distribution (CGD) network in the geographical area of Rewari district," it said in a regulatory filing.
In the authorisation letter, PNGRB asked IGL to submit a performance bank guarantee for Rs 1,052.36 crore within 15 days.
