IIEST registrar Dr Biman Bandyopadhyay said that a student had lodged a complaint on January 15 against a teacher accusing him of sexual harassment.
"The matter was reported to the university's internal complaints committee. The incident is being investigated and till the final report comes out we have asked the teacher not to take classes anymore. We will take further action once the committee gives it report," the registrar told PTI.
Deputy Commissioner (Headquarters), Howrah, Nishad Pervez, however, told PTI that his office was yet to receive any complaint in this regard.
Last year, Jadavpur University campus was rocked by protests after a girl student complained of molestation in the hostel.
