The Indian Institute of Technology, Hyderabad, will organise the three-day conference from December 27 on composite materials, which have wide applications in medicine, space, aircraft and automotive structures.
The theme for the international conference is 'Recent Advances in Composite Materials and Structures', IIT Hyderabad Director Prof U B Desai said in a release.
Scientists from Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO), Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO), Bhabha Atomic Research Centre (BARC) and National Aerospace Laboratories along with research scholars, students and industry representatives will participate in the event.
Composite materials is an interdisciplinary area where chemists, material scientists, chemical engineers, mechanical engineers and structural engineers contribute to the overall product, he said.
The conference would be a forum to bring together the users, manufacturers, designers and researchers involved in understanding structures or structural components manufactured using composite materials, Desai said.
