Renowned music composer Ilayaraja today petitioned the city police to take action against a shop allegedly involved in illegal recording and sale of his songs.
In a complaint to the Commissioner of Police, Coimbatore, K Periaiah, he alleged that 'Honey Bee' music shop here was illegally recording his music and selling the CDs cross the state besides releasing the songs online.
In addition, the shop was re-mixing his music with that of others and releasing it in DTS format, which sullied his reputation, the complaint said.
The musician's lawyer also sought to freeze the bank accounts and confiscate the money earned by the owner through sale of CDs without permisson.
