The Nashik city and neighbouring areas in the district witnessed incessant rains for the third consecutive day today, disrupting normal life and affecting vehicular traffic on the main highways, official sources said.
However, farmers were happy with the good spell of rains this month, boosting their agricultural operations.
Owing to heavy rains in Igatpuri taluka, a road between Ghoti and Kaluste on river Darna was washed away yesterday, a report received from district Collector's office here said today.
A road constructed in Nashik's Tapovan locality also developed cracks, it said.
Owing to the heavy rains, a number of trees fell at Nashik Road and Panchavati localities, causing damage to two autorickshaws.
Power supply was also affected in many areas due to the heavy downpour.
The district's tribal-dominated Igatpuri taluka recorded 62 mm rain today followed by 29 mm at Trimbakeshwar. Overall, the Nashik district received 242.5 mm rain today, as per the official figures.
A total of 1,447.4 mm rain was recorded from June 1 till today, sources said.
The ongoing developmental works in Nashik and Trimbakeshwar for Kumbh mela were affected due to the rains.
However, Peint, Devla, Yeola, Niphad, Nandgaon and Surgana tehsils have not received adequate rains so far.
Meanwhile, youngsters were seen enjoying the monsoon showers by visiting the picturesque Kasara ghat and Trimbakeshwar areas.
