Indefinite fast: Jagan continues to refuse medical help

YSR Congress president Y S Jaganmohan Reddy, who was admitted to a government hospital here following a five-day long indefinite fast, continued to refuse to be put on intavenous fluids, doctors said.
The sugar levels of Reddy have come down, keytone bodies in urine are high and heart rate is low, they said.
However, he continued to refuse to be put on intravenous fluids, they said, adding that the fasting may lead to damage to the organs.
He was explained the situation and the need to accept intravenous fluids.
Last night police shifted Jaganmohan Reddy from the Chanchalguda jail here to the state-run Osmania General Hospital amid heavy security.

The doctors said he has agreed to accept medical intervention if such a need arose.

The jailed Kadapa MP, who has been lodged at the Chanchalguda Central Prison since May last year after his arrest by the CBI on corruption charges, launched an indefinite fast last Sunday.
Meanwhile, YSR Congress has appealed to its president to withdraw his indefinite fast "as the there are many battles to be fought against the insensitive government in the days to come."
"The Political Affairs Committee (PAC) of the Party met today and resolved to appeal to Jagan to withdraw his fast in the larger interests of the people and appealed to the cadre to refrain from any serious action," Party Honorary President Y S Vijayamma and senior Party leader Konatala Ramakrisha told reporters here today.

As Jagan's sugar levels are dipping fast and may damage the organs as well, the PAC took a decision to appeal to him to withdraw his fast, YSRCP leaders said.
The YSRCP sources said party leader and Jagan's sister Sharmila would undertake a 'bus yatra' from September 2 from Tirupati "to coincide with the fourth death anniversary of late Rajasekhara Reddy and tour the 13 districts of Seemandhra to express solidarity with the people and highlighting the party's stand of demanding status quo if equal justice cannot be meted out to all regions".
