Secretary (West) in External Affairs Ministry Sujata Mehta said such a reformed structure would facilitate the countries to pursue and seek to further their respective interests, within discipline of international law and global-governance institutions.
Speaking at a seminar, she said nation states are no longer the only actors on the stage of international life as there has been increasing involvement of various associations and groups which have been playing significant role in international relations.
She said aim of the reform of global governance is to ensure world order, by crafting effective multilateral arrangements between states and to ensure some modicum of regulation in key areas of international life.
"Today, we accept that the ideal global institution to accomplish the task of world order is one where there is just and fair representation of all, and where the representatives in these institutions can be trusted to work for the common global good," she said.
