India Association raises 10,000 for charity

In a noble gesture, London-based India Association has raised 10,000 pounds for a diabetes and cholesterol awareness initiative.
The amount, collected last night during the group's Diwali Dinner and Dance 2013, was later presented to the representatives of the Ealing Division of the Multiple Sclerosis (MS) Society and a Diabetes and Cholesterol Awareness Roadshow at the function.
The function was attended by Dominic Grieve, Britain's Attorney General, Virendra Sharma, MP, and S S Sidhu, Minister (Coordination) at the Indian High Commission.
Bobby Grewal, the president of the India Association, after handing over the amount said,"the future plans for the India Association continue to be the raising of funds for a variety of good causes across the globe."

"The most ambitious plan is the completion of the 'circle' with a charity walk in India from the south to the north along the east coast in 2014. The target for this walk is the raising of one million pounds for good causes," he said.
