India Inc hiring sentiment up in June: Report

Hiring activity grew 22 per cent in June led by IT and telecom while other sectors are likely to pick up pace in next few months, says a monthly survey.
The Naukri Job Speak Index for June 2016 stood at 2,129 marking an increase of 22 per cent in hiring activity compared to corresponding period last year.
The growth during this period was predominantly led by sectors such as Telecom, IT-Software, ITeS and Healthcare.
"The job market continues to sustain the momentum gained over the past few months and is moving further north with an impressive 22 per cent year-on-year growth in June 2016," V Suresh, Chief Sales Officer, Naukri.Com said.
Though this growth is predominantly driven by sectors like IT, Telecom and Healthcare, we can expect the other sectors to pick up in the next few months or so. Looks like good times ahead for jobseekers, Suresh added.
As per the report, IT - hardware and telecom, and finance professionals witnessed an increase of 13 per cent and 11 per cent respectively, while demand for professionals in marketing & advertising recorded remarkable growth of 34 per cent.
City-wise, all metro cities witnessed growth in jobs this year in June compared to the same time period last year.
Among the metros, Delhi/NCR reported a year-on-year growth of 46 per cent in June, followed by Chennai and Hyderabad at 43 per cent and 36 per cent respectively.
Mumbai and Bengaluru recorded an increase of 24 per cent and 18 per cent respectively, whereas Pune witnessed an increase of 13 per cent in June this year.
